Kraftsborg Citizen Handbook
Welcome to The Kingdom of Kraftsborg! This page covers how you get started in the nation, what you need to know and everything in between. It will also have a link to core mechanics you'll need to know to get started!
> Tip: Join the Discords for help and alerts (Kraftsborg + Imperial Federation + CivMC). Channel names may vary between servers—ask if you’re unsure.

Discord
To play CivMC, you'll need to join discord servers to join nations, particularly to join Kraftsborg you'll need to join the Imperial Federation Discord, and the Kraftsborg Discord.
Why do I need to join both?
Kraftsborg is state within the Imperial Federation (IF), which means we are an small nation which is part of a bigger collective of over 20 nations who work together to form the Imperial Federation. To be a citizen of one state, you must be a citizen of the larger nation.
- Join the Imperial Federation Discord Server.
- Find the citizenship application channel and follow the form/instructions.
- Wait for approval; staff may DM you for follow-up.
- Once approved, you’ll gain IF roles and access to relevant channels.
- You still need to make sure you are an active primary of kraftsborg however, this needs to be done once a month to ensure you count towards our citizenship. This is done using the command
/citizenship primary region:Kraftsborg
How to Register for Kraftsborg Citizenship
- Join the Kraftsborg Discord Server.
- Go to the citizenship/registration channel, press citizen application and post your in-game name plus any requested info.
- A minister/PA member will review your application and assist you in on-boarding.

Getting to Kraftsborg
To reach Kraftsborg when you spawn, you have a few options, if you are local to the IF, you can jump on the rail and do /dest kraftsborg to quickly reach us on the train. If you are further away and just joined, you can use your One time teleport (OTT)
- Use:
/ott to <playername>(for example/ott to AdamJN_) - You can only do this once when you join, and only in your first 24 hours of playtime.
- Common use: OTT to a Kraftsborg People's Assembly Member who will on-board you.

How does Kraftsborg work?
Kraftsborg has a tiered citizenship idelogy, you start out as a regular citizen, you can get yourself a starter apartment and begin mining or collecting resources from a local farm.
Helping in state projects or providing some diamonds to the state (along with playtime), you can progress to the next tier of citizen.

Tiered Citizenship
Reason behind this system: For a long time, the state was almost entirely funded by the lord protector and Adam, this was not only unsustainable but meant the system relied too heavily on two people. This system means that citizens contribute towards the state to ensure that infrastructure and public works can be built without relying on just one or two citizens.
Citizen
Citizens are the starting rank of citizen. Citizens are provided with an apartment in one of the state’s counties and are encouraged to familiarise themselves with CivMC mechanics, state infrastructure, and community norms. This rank is designed to support onboarding and integration, allowing new members to participate in the state in a low-risk, guided environment.
High Citizen:
High Citizens are the next tier in citizenship, You get access to more factories and have are able to elect the Talsmand. High Citizen Progression Requirements: To progress beyond Citizen, an individual must demonstrate early engagement and contribution through:
- A minimum of 7 days of active playtime, and
- A contribution of 64 diamonds to the state treasury or multiple substantial contributions to state projects (e.g. public builds or infrastructure development).
Perks: Citizens gain access to:
- Eligibility to claim residential plots within counties
- Increased access to state factories
- Permission to establish shops within the state
- The ability to vote in the Talsmand Election
This rank recognises Citizens who have shown consistent activity and early commitment, granting them greater independence and economic opportunity.
Noble:
The Noble rank is awarded to members who have made meaningful and sustained contributions to the state’s growth and economy.
Progression Requirements:
- A minimum of 24 days of active playtime, and
- A contribution of 128 diamonds to the state treasury or significant contributions to state projects or services.
Perks: Nobles are granted:
- Access to higher-tier state factories
- Larger land plots and improved commercial opportunities
- Provision of improved equipment and armour
- Eligibility for state funding assistance when establishing or expanding shops
Nobles are recognised as major contributors whose efforts materially benefit the state’s development and economic strength.
Lord:
The Lord rank represents the highest non-appointed status within the state hierarchy.
**Progression Requirements
- A minimum of 48 days of active playtime, and
- A contribution of 256 diamonds to the state treasury or an exceptional national contribution, such as:
- Leading major projects
- Sustained administrative service
- Foundational or long-term development work
Perks: Lords receive:
- Authority to propose legislation to the State Assembly (without voting rights)
- Recognition as the highest non-appointed rank
- Access to state resources upon request to the Lord Protector
- Active state support in large-scale economic or infrastructural initiatives
Lords are regarded as the most trusted and influential non-appointed members of the state.
Eligibility Note:
Individuals holding the rank of Lord or below remain eligible to run for Prime Minister, the People’s Assembly, and other senior civic positions.
County Lord:
County Lords* are appointed directly by the Lord Protector in recognition of exceptional national service and demonstrated trust.
A County Lord is granted authority over a specific region or county and is responsible for:
- Managing land and zoning
- Overseeing infrastructure
- Guiding regional development
- Ensuring effective governance and long-term stability
Restrictions:
- County Lords may not run for public office
- County Lords may not hold governmental positions, except for the role of Minister of Defence
This rank exists to ensure capable, stable leadership at the regional level while maintaining a clear separation between appointed authority and elected governance.

Leadership Structure
Kraftsborg has a Lord Protector (Jetsky) who rules over the nation and ensures that no political unrest occours, although he is the leader, he does not deal with the running of the nation, that is deferred to the Prime Minister, who is elected every 6 weeks. More can be read on our Constitution page.
Kraftsborg is a state in the Imperial Federation with a parliamentary executive and appointed ministers.
A full explanation can be found on the Government page!
- Prime Minister appoints the Cabinet of Ministers after elections.
- Core ministries include:
- Minister of Infrastructure — oversees/approves building projects; maintains rail, roads, and public buildings; ensures projects follow Building Regulations.
- Minister of Economy — shops, restocking oversight, treasury coordination, citizen job creation.
- Minister of Culture — Works on cultural events, news and preserves the heritage of Kraftsborg.
- Building Regulations: Request plots/permissions for projects; local areas can set additional rules. Federal buildings may have special handling.
- Protection & Heritage: Some sites (e.g., the Protected Tree) are legally safeguarded; griefing or tampering has penalties.
For details, see the Laws area of the site (Infrastructure Act, Protected Tree Act, etc.).

Basic CivMC Mechanics
A full explanation can be found on the ##NOT YET CREATED## page or on the Wiki but below is a few of the key mechanics you'll need to know.
Protecting your builds, doors and chests
To protect a build in the overworld you have 3 options, You can protect a block with Stone (50 health), Iron (300 health) or Diamond (2000 health). All reinforcement levels can be viewed in game using /reinforcements.
The health of the block determines how many times someone would have to break it before the block actually breaks. For example, if I place a chest with Iron reinforcements, another player would need to break it 300 times before they could gain access to the chest.
To lock something on your personal name layer you can simply type /ctr and punch the block, chest or door you want to protect with one of the reinforcement types (eg. Stone, Iron, Diamond). This will then protect it, you can exit this mode using /cto.
If you are building though, you wont want to punch every block you place with stone. In this instance, you can hold some stone, and type /ctf and then as you place down blocks it will use the stone in your inventory to protect the entire build as you go.
Name Layers
Name layers are basically groups of players, you can chat between the groups, or you can protect builds on a shared group. For example, If I wanted to create a shop with me and some friends, I may create a name layer (NL) and protect the entire shop on the name layer so that everyone in that group can access chests, break blocks or open doors. You can create a namelayer by using /nlcg [name]. You can then modify it using /nl.

Elevators
Elevator blocks are lodestones, you can crouch or jump on them to go up and down. To build one, its as simple as putting a lodestone down, and then another directly down below or above it, for example, I could place one on the surface at Y:100 and one at Bedrock (Y:-55) and then travel up and down instantly.

Transportation
The primary way to get around the world in CivMC is the rail system, Kraftsborg is connected to the IF OneDest line, meaning you can jump on a train and type /dest newcallisto and it will take you directly there, then to get back you type /dest kraftsborg and you can come back to the state.
You can get more complicated destinations though, such as /dest imperia bay Thule which will take you to Thule, via imperia. Further away locations require you to add junctions in between them.
Some locations such as Pavia are located on direct line trains, many of these can be found in new callisto and dont require you to type any commands.

Snitches & Pearling
Snitches
Snitches are a way to keep track of player actions in an area, such as a player entering the region or such as breaking blocks. Basically, Commit a crime and you will be punished!
To create a snitch
- Place down a Jukebox or a noteblock
- reinforce it using
/ctr - name it using
/janame [name] - check its working with
/ja
If you are caught comitting a crime, you may be pearled, more on that below.
More on this (Including linking your discord) can be found here!
How Pearling Works
Pearling is CivMC’s justice and combat system — a way for players and nations to enforce rules, imprison criminals, and engage in meaningful conflict.
When a player is killed while the attacker has an Ender Pearl in their hotbar, the victim is “pearled” — banished to the Nether.
This act of imprisonment is central to CivMC’s law and order system.
⚔️ The Basics
- Killing a player with a pearl in your hotbar banishes them to the Nether.
- The pearled player is now held inside the Ender Pearl that captured them.
- They cannot escape unless:
- The captor releases them.
- Allies recover and free their pearl.
- The pearl runs out of fuel (Essence).
- The pearl is destroyed.
The captured player will respawn in the Nether and remain there until released.
🔮 Managing Pearls
You can view and manage pearled players with:
/ep showall
To broadcast your pearl’s location to a group (for coordination or rescue): /ep broadcast <groupname>
Pearled players are tracked and monitored through these mechanics by many nations to ensure lawful use.
💎 Essence (Pearl Fuel)
Pearls require Player Essence as fuel to stay active.
If the pearl runs out of essence, the imprisoned player is automatically released.
- Essence is gained daily by logging in and playing for about 30 minutes.
- To refuel a pearl, craft it together with Essence.
- Essence is valuable — it’s also used in XP production and advanced recipes.
⚔️ Combat Adjustments
CivMC uses a custom combat system:
- Old-school (pre-1.8) PvP mechanics are enabled.
- Attack speed is limited to 9 clicks per second (CPS) — a warning will appear if you exceed it.
- Ender Pearl teleporting has a 15-second cooldown.
- Enchanted golden apples and ender crystal self-damage are disabled.
Combat is skill-based and strategic — every fight carries real political or territorial risk.
How Shops Work (ItemExchange)
CivMC uses the ItemExchange system for all player and national shops.
These shops work through an automated input → output rule system rather than direct trading.
Each shop defines a trade rule — for example:
> Input: 18 Iron Ingot → Output: 2 Diamond
🏷️ How to Use a Shop
- Punch the shop sign or chest to browse through its available offers.
- Some shops have multiple trade options (different items, quantities, or a reverse shop where you can buy and sell the same item).
- When you find the trade you want, punch the chest while holding the input item.
- The shop will automatically take the input and give you the output item in return.
If the shop doesn’t respond, check that:
- You have the exact input item and quantity.
- You’re not trying to trade from a full inventory.
- The shop still has stock available for that offer.
💱 Example
Iron Exchange Shop
- Offer 1: 48 Raw Iron → 64 Iron Ingot
- Offer 2: 64 Iron Ingot → 48 Raw Iron (reverse trade)
Punch to cycle between these two options.
Once your desired trade is displayed, punch the chest with your items to complete the exchange.
🏦 The Kraftsborg Exchange
One of the most useful facilities is the Kraftsborg Ore Exchange, a national store designed for material conversion.
Here you can:
- Exchange ores for their smelted values (e.g., Raw Iron → Iron Ingots).
The Ore Exchange helps new citizens get started and provides a steady economy for the nation.
🧾 Shop Tips
- Always double-check what offer is currently displayed before trading.
- Keep space in your inventory for outputs.
- Some shops use compacted items — these trade 64x64 (4096) items at once.
- Report broken or out-of-stock shops to the Minister of Economy or in the Kraftsborg Discord.

⛏️ HiddenOre System
Every time you break a block that could contain ore (stone, deepslate, etc.), there’s a chance that ores will spawn nearby.
The type of ore that appears depends on your Y-level, following roughly similar spawn rates to vanilla Minecraft.
You can mine at normal depths for most resources — for example:
- Iron and Copper: high-mid levels
- Gold and Redstone: lower levels
- Diamond: -35 is the best Y height but it can spawn from bedrock to y=0
- Coal: near the surface
Each block mined has a small chance to generate ores around you, creating a gradual and natural discovery experience.
💎 Veins
In addition to random ores, large ore veins exist underground.
These can stretch dozens of blocks and take unique shapes depending on the ore type.
When you discover a new ore vein, a message will appear in chat announcing it.
To mine out the full vein:
- Mark your first ore find (torches, blocks, or waypoints help).
- Mine a box roughly 11 blocks in every direction around the discovery point.
- Continue expanding as you uncover more connected ores.
Any ore can appear in a vein — but Diamonds only spawn in veins.
That means if you want large amounts of diamond, you’ll need to actively seek out and mine these clusters.
⚒️ Pickaxe Strategy
Different ores benefit from different tool types:
Use Silk Touch on:
- Redstone
- Coal
- Diamond
- Lapis Lazuli
→ Smelt these in an Ore Smelter Factory for better yields than Fortune.
Use Fortune on:
- Copper
- Iron
- Gold
→ Then smelt them in a factory for increased output.
This combination maximizes resource efficiency and ties directly into Kraftsborg’s industrial economy.
🧱 Netherite Pickaxe Bonus
Netherite pickaxes give you a bonus to ore spawn rates:
- Higher chance for ores to appear when mining.
- Diamond veins may yield multiple ores per discovery (up to triple) instead of one.
Because of this, Netherite tools are a strong long-term investment for dedicated miners.
In short:
Mine smart, follow the veins, and refine everything through factories — efficiency and teamwork make Kraftsborg’s mining industry thrive.
