Government of the Kingdom of Kraftsborg

The Government of Kraftsborg is responsible for managing, protecting, and guiding the state. It is built on the Constitution of Kraftsborg and led by the Lord Protector, with additional powers vested in the Folketing (Parliament) and the Executive branch.

The Lord Protector

The Lord Protector is the ultimate authority in Kraftsborg.
Their duties include:

Guaranteeing stability and protecting the constitution.
Appointing members of the Lord’s Assembly.
Approving or vetoing passed legislation.
Amending the constitution if required.
Appointing the Minister of Defence.
Holding appellate jurisdiction over all cases.
Acting as Kraftsborg’s first Imperial Senator.

The Lord Protector may suspend or restore the Folketing in times of low activity, and may be replaced through a vote of the primary citizens if they step down or are impeached.

The Folketing (Parliament)

The Folketing is the legislative body of Kraftsborg, made up of several parts:

The State Assembly

Passes legislation by popular vote.
Split into Executive and Opposition.
Executive: The Prime Minister and their Cabinet.
Opposition: The People’s Assembly and unelected political parties.
Can propose constitutional amendments and new laws.

The Lord’s Assembly

Provides scrutiny to bills before they reach the Lord Protector.
Limited to five members at a time.
May compete for an Imperial Senator position if available.

The Executive (Prime Minister & Cabinet)

Prime Minister: Head of Government, leader of the elected party, entitled to Kraftsborg’s second Imperial Senate seat.
Appoints Ministers to oversee specific areas:
- Minister of Infrastructure (railways, roads, projects).
- Minister of Economy (shops, treasury, jobs).
- Minister of State (internal affairs & advising the PM).
- Minister of Defence (security & military).
- Minister of Culture (Events, Heritage and Advertisement).

The Executive can pass emergency legislation during crises if approved by the Lord Protector.

The People’s Assembly

Represents the citizens directly.
Led by the Talsmand, who holds votes in the State Assembly and may propose bills.
Responsible for community upkeep, onboarding new citizens, and maintaining public spaces.

Unelected Parties

Receive a limited number of votes in the State Assembly based on election results.
Can debate and propose legislation independently.

The High Court

Although not heavily used, the Constitution provides for a High Court:

Judges appointed by the Lord Protector, confirmed by the Prime Minister and Talsmand.
Handles crimes, constitutional disputes, and interpretation of law.
Cases may include juries of Kraftsborg citizens.
The Lord Protector serves as the highest appellate authority.
