Royal Armed Forces Restructuring Act
Proposed by: AdamJN
Preamble
The Royal Armed Forces of Kraftsborg have historically operated under a divisional structure comprising units such as Horses, Home Defense, and Navy.
This Act dissolves that structure and replaces it with three clearly defined units, each with a distinct role and purpose.
These reforms are intended to simplify military organisation, clarify responsibilities, and ensure the RAFK operates as a coherent and effective force under unified leadership.
Section I — Purpose
This Act seeks to:
- Dissolve the existing divisional structure of the RAFK
- Establish three streamlined military units with clearly defined roles
- Preserve the authority of the Minister of Defense as head of the RAFK
- Clarify the relationship between military units and the chain of command
- Allow citizens to serve across multiple units where appropriate
Section II — Dissolution of Existing Structure
Upon enactment of this Act, all previously recognised RAFK divisions — including but not limited to Horses, Home Defense, and Navy — are hereby dissolved.
Members of dissolved divisions shall be reassigned to one or more of the units established under Section III at the discretion of the Minister of Defense.
Section III — New Unit Structure
1. Operations
A command-level unit responsible for the coordination, strategy, and leadership of RAFK activity.
Role:
- Supporting the Minister of Defense in the direction of military operations
- Coordinating activity across Combat and Infrastructure units
- Strategic planning and operational oversight
Operations personnel do not replace the Minister of Defense; they support the command structure beneath them.
2. Combat
The primary fighting force of Kraftsborg.
Role:
- Front-line offensive and defensive military action
- Responding to threats to Kraftsborg and its allies
- Supporting Imperial Federation military efforts as directed
3. Infrastructure
A unit focused on the construction and upkeep of military infrastructure.
Role:
- Building and maintaining vaults, fortifications, and defensive structures
- Supporting Combat and Operations units through logistical and structural work
- Coordinating with the Minister of Infrastructure where required
Members of this unit are not primarily combat-focused, though they may also serve in Combat where appropriate.
Section IV — Additional Provisions
Multi-Unit Service
Citizens may belong to more than one unit where it is appropriate to do so.
For example, a member of the Combat unit may simultaneously serve in Infrastructure.
Assignment to multiple units is subject to the approval of the Minister of Defense.
Chain of Command
All units of the RAFK remain under the authority of the Minister of Defense, who is appointed by and accountable to the Lord Protector.
Nothing in this Act shall alter the position or authority of the Minister of Defense as established in the Constitution of the Kingdom of Kraftsborg.
Section V — Enactment
This Act shall take effect immediately upon ratification and shall supersede any prior statutes or arrangements inconsistent with its provisions regarding RAFK structure.
